    1. I was very impressed with this book. It had an intriguing story line and kept me captivated as the story unfolded through the familiar streets of Johannesburg. Well written with lovely expressive language. Great Read!!


    2. A friend lent me this South African-set thriller. I'd read another book by the author earlier and also enjoyed it. Mackenzie's standalone outside her Jade DeJong series may be her best yet.Nick, her protagonist, an EMS, driver, is a different and well created character and her plot is a woven spider web with a lot of terrific individual scenes.The only short coming is that when the web becomes untangled, despite some clever twists, many lack credibility and you have to stop too often and knit the plot strands together yourself.Still, a very entertaining read and, as usual, DeJong depicts the harrowin [...]


    4. really enjoyed reading this. Characters were real, situations - although sometimes a bit far-fetched - were realistic, and overall it was a really good, fast-paced, entertaining novel set in my hometown.
