    1. I have a review of this book at my blog too, with first chapter for book tour.Michelle’s Paranormal Vault of Books This review is spoiler free, I do not mention more than what is in the blurb.I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I do not normally read many books with the main character being male, much less a 14 year old (that’s probably what my biggest complaint is, been better if he was 17 at least)Anyway, the story did hook me in, I was disturbed at the severe abuse t [...]

    2. "The Healer" is written with a well developed plot that has some violence/abuse inserted, which I would recommend as a parent to read the book before allowing my YA to read it. J.L. Bowen pens her characters full of emotions and heartache. Overall, I totally enjoyed the book and can't wait for the next. This review is based on a complimentary copy which was provided for an honest review.

    3. This was given to me by first reads. Thanks! Some spoilersI really, really, really wanted to like this book. The author seemed sweet, I liked that it was fantasy, and I feel strongly about supporting indie authors (who doesn't?) About a third of the way through I was thinking 'how the hell am I going to say anything nice?' The first third was confusing, poorly written and seemingly off plot. I did not like the first third. I didn't know how I was going to continue reading. BUT THEN, Magic happe [...]

    5. I don't usually read Young Adult novels, but when the author offered this one in a giveaway, I read the synopsis and it perked my interest. Let's just face it, I have a weakness for fantasy to begin with, and the Urban Fantasy elements in this novel are plain to see. It is slightly darker than I expected, but Armand Costa is such a great hero. GISTArmand Costa has been the recipient of constant physical and emotional abuse from his supposed aunt and uncle for as long as he can remember. Being a [...]

    6. MLR's new GLBT young adult release.I liked this more than I thought I might. Armond's life is horrible. He's learned to not trust adults, they all lie, and hurt you. He has a safe house with the Ellis family, who are barely old enough to take care of themselves, but they do everything that they can to protect Armond form his Aunt and Uncle. Those two are really twisted throughout the book, and the one thing that really, really bugged me about them was how they continued to blame Armond for every [...]

    7. That book is nothing special and there is no coupling. Its like large prologue. Main character Armond was taken when he was a baby from a crib and was raised by a family that tortured him all the time. After a while he get to know who he really is and who his parents are. What he does not know is that he will come to the war zone. Whole plot is lala land and nobody will miss much if the book is just skipped.

    8. Very well written book. I now want to check out what other books there are by this author. I can see this being made into a movie.:( just went to Ms Bowen's site and she has no more books published yet.
