    About "Robert James Jacobi"

    1. Robert James Jacobi

You could say I ve been in the entertainment business my whole life Actually, it would be accurate to say that I was in the entertainment industry before I even took my first breath My mother was a Radio City Music Hall Rockette, which meant I was bouncing around in her stomach for at least one Christmas Show.My father was a stagehand at Avery Fisher Hall in Manhattan When I was a kid I would take the bus up from the Jersey Shore and visit him all the time I remember lying down on a small couch behind the stage listening to the performers rehearse as I slowly fell asleep Not every kid could say that they feel asleep to the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, or Pavarotti, or all the other countless entertainers I had the pleasure of nodding off torry guys personal, I was just a kid.My first job out of college was working as a production assistant on the news show Inside Edition A year later, I relocated to Orlando, Florida There s nothing like living around the corner from Universal Studios and Disney Two years later I drove across the country to Hollywood, California were I worked on several television shows including the entertainment news show Extra. After Hollywood, I returned back to the east coast, moved into Manhattan, and started working as a local one stagehand I would follow in the footsteps of my great grandfather, grandfather and father I ve had the pleasure of working as a soundman on many broadway shows including Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk, You re a Good Man Charlie Brown, It Ain t Nothin But The Blues, Chicago, and countless others. My first attempt at writing was a screenplay A Tale of Manhattan was originally a screenplay, until one day I decided to test the literary waters and create my first middle grade fantasy adventure novel I ve always been fascinated with anything dealing with fantasy, adventure, and history I guess that s why I loved reading Tolkien, Lewis, and Verne I owe a great deal to my family who have supported me from day one on my writing odyssey Especially my wife and two boys who never get sick of my stories, or hearing me say What do you think of this My dog Max even lends his support by lying at my side as I write late into the night. On a personal note I ve been in one tornado, three hurricanes, one fire, one flood, one earthquake too many , two blackouts way too many d ten days without power during Hurricane Sandy So I figured if I ve been through all those things in my life so far, then there was certainly nothing that would stand in between me and my passion for writing. The Devin Reed Fantasy Adventure Series Book One A Tale Of Manhattan Return Of The Sacred Scroll Book Two A Tale Of Egypt The Ancient Book Of Magic SpellsPLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW THANKS To learn about my novel visit my website at RobertJamesJacobi

    1. Disclosure: I won this book from a First Reads giveaway.I had to be very objective in rating this book since it has been so long since I have read a middle school aged book! Devin is likely a character that pre-teen readers can relate to and the story teaches a simple passion for history and archaeology. I'm not sure that the story always flowed quite the way that it seems that it could but if you are looking for a wholesome story with a positive message for your child or childrenis is a good o [...]

    2. I won this book through First Reads giveaway. There is a lot of adventure and interesting characters to explore and get to know. It does a brain good to imagine and this book is the jackpot of exercise for the mind. If only we could have real-life adventures like this, minus the undead part of course All-in-all the book was fun to read and should be on your "next book to read" list.

    3. I really loved this book. As the description said, "part Indiana Jones and part Percy Jackson." And it is true. The descriptions are beautiful and puts you right in the middle of all the excitement. I have been to Central Park and know where the story takes you. The story also teaches you a little about history: Henry Hudson, the history of Manhattan Island and so on.This is a great book for all ages, for those that can read it themselves to those being read to. Even older people like me would lo [...]

    4. It was a really good book. It kept my interest and i enjoyed of the historical parts in it. I also liked the fights that were described that made it keep your interest. It was not a boring book at all.

    5. This was a great story. I am looking forward to "A Tale of Egypt" next. Devin Reed is a attention keeping character which made this book fun to read. I enjoyed the story from start to finish. The author has done a great job in what I hope will be the first of many devon reed adventures.

    6. I received this book through first reads.A book adults can enjoy along with children. Well researched. An adventure filled with constant action and a good mix of history and fiction. An enjoyable read. Look forward to the next book.
