    1. Wow, this book is an amazing testament to what God can do for us. We all just need to stop and listen. The author directs each of us through the stages that God put him through. From the first Whisper to Sucess. He tells us in his everyday life how God has shaped him. He fully admits he didn't listen to God's call and it took him thirteen years to finally do what God had tasked him to do. Yes, he states the NFL gave him a platform to show others his faith but it also tested his faith. I will nev [...]

    2. "Hand on the Line, Challenging Men to Follow God's Call" by author Steve Wisniewski is a 368 page paperback book published by Destiny Images. At first glance this cover looks like a sports book. It shows a football scene. That's because author Wisniewski is a former All-Pro offensive guard with the Oakland Raiders. He had a 13-year professional career and won many accolades. He also was considered one of the NFL’s “dirtiest players" because he was aggressive. Now, however he is a licensed mi [...]

    3. “Challenging Men to Follow God’s Call” is the subtitle of Hand On the Line by Steve Wisniewski, but I believe the challenges within the pages of this book can be for women, too. Mr. Wisniewski is an 8-time NFL Pro Bowl player and a former offensive lineman for the Oakland Raiders NFL team. Although many analogies in the book are sport-related, particularly football-related, most people can follow and easily understand the stories and how they translate to Christian life. The comparisons ar [...]

    4. The title suggests that this is a book for men to challenge them. I agree with the author that is a book that will challenge you but it is not just for men. It is a powerful testimony of how Steve overcame many obstacles that changed his destiny. After reading this book, I felt encouraged, energized and thankful that I was blessed to have the opportunity to read a thought provoking book.Steve has played for the Oakland Raiders and was" once known as NFL's dirtiest player in 1997." He has decided [...]

    5. Well, I’m not a man but I was a die-hard Raiders fan from the mid-80s through 2003. And, I do mean die hard. Steve did an amazing job with this book and I loved reminiscing back in time to some amazing games that I remember like they were yesterday. I love hearing some stories of other favorite players from the Raiders. Most importantly, I was touched by Steve’s Christian walk, love for the Lord, and his desire to disciple other men. The Word Steve shares in this book is not shallow, but is [...]

    6. Hand On The Line - Challenging Men To Follow God's Call by Steve Wisniewski is a very good book. The author engages the reader with stories of his childhood and time spent in the NFL and uses them to illustrate important aspects of your walk with God. He shares very practical Biblical truths in an effort to "challenge men to follow God's call". But don't let the title deter you from reading this book if you are a woman as women can definitely benefit from this book, too. This book can be used as [...]

    7. When I received this book, I did realize that it says on the cover "Challenging Men to Follow God's Call." So I decided to get it as a book to read with my husband. This way I could give my honest review while seeing what my husband thinks. It is aimed at men as it talks about the obstacles that Steve Wisniewski faced and how he handled them. This is a book of encouragment, and faith. The author was once considered a dirty player in the NFL. He saw things that needed to be changed in his life and [...]

    8. I read this book as a part of my church's Monday Night Men's Study. Steve Wisniewski has written a great book and it was very useful for our church men's group. Steve Wisniewski, nicknamed "The Wiz," is a former offensive guard who played 13 seasons with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders and later served as the team's assistant offensive line coach. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 1989 NFL Draft. His rights were traded to the Raiders that same draft. He played colle [...]

    9. I am reading Hand on the Line. What a great book! I loved how it’s geared for men, but yet anyone can pick it up and enjoy it. It talks about football and male things, but is so relatable to anyone who loves God and wants to have a close relationship with Him. I thoroughly am enjoying it and can’t wait to share it with the men in my life. It’s encouraging, challenging, inspiring, and just a wonderful read that I don’t want to put down. I received this book for free from The Book Club Net [...]

    10. I am currently reading Hand on the Line, Challenging Men to Follow God’s Call by Steve Wisniewski. I was just enough of a football fan in my early years to relate to Mr. Wisniewski’s personal anecdotes and analogies. The book is well written and full of spiritual nuggets. As I am reading, I feel a need to have post-its and a high-lighter nearby. I will not only share this book with the men in my life, but I will it keep on my shelf and return to it time and again.
