    1. Very real look at life in a wheelchair. Of the books I've read that have a wheelchair bound character, this is the most honest of what it's like. I liked that the author showed that each of them needed and helped the other.

    2. Oh my- such great characters! The interplay of the characters is terrific. Biel has written quite a novel here!I very much enjoyed it and urge you to read it.I received a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion. My honest opinion is that Kathryn Biel is an excellent writer.

    3. Hero - Michael SalingerHeroine - Samirah LundgrenThis is not the typical story that I usually like. Sam is not the type of heroine I usually sympathize with, but it took me no time. The author did a good job with me not wanting to think that Sam was simply a unsympathetic slut who sleeps with married men. What Sam was doing was wrong, but I was able to see that there was more. Sam dresses skimpy and is having an affair with a married man. She really cares little for herself. It shows at how she [...]

    4. Life hasn’t been kind to Samirah. After losing her mother to cancer and her father walking out on her again, she hides behind the façade of a party girl to get her through each day. She knows that her relationship with a married man isn’t the wisest choice, but she holds on to his promise of leaving his wife to justify her actions. But the man she loved and the man he showed himself to be are two completely different people. And when he does the unthinkable, Samirah’s life will forever be [...]

    5. Addicting! This book had my attention from the beginning and I struggled in having to 'adult' while reading. I found myself taking a few more minutes during a break to read and falling asleep while reading because it was so late. What a gripping storyline and was written so well! The story is written as if you are experiencing the story in person, it feels so real and believable. I have read other books by this author and have yet to come across a story that I do not like. This book would be gre [...]

    6. Can two broken people help each other heal? There's one way to find out. Read the book :)I loved Kathryn's writing style. It's emotionally engaging without making me cry, well not cry the whole way through anyway. I loved both main characters and hoped they would let each other in. It was interesting to read about a character with a spinal injury and how he managed so independently. Kathryn has experience as a physical therapist, so the details about Michael's spinal cord injury and rehab are au [...]

    7. Kathryn did it again . Another amazing novel , that once you pick it up , I guarantee you won't be able to put it down . I absolutely loved this story , as usual you find yourself pulling for these characters .

    8. There have never been two people who have needed each other more than Sam and Michael. Both of these people are living a partial life, just getting through each day and not really enjoying life. When circumstances throw them together I could see how the story would go. Well, maybe not exactly how the story would go since Kathryn Biel threw a few surprises in their story, but I knew how I wanted it to go. As usual, the author knew better than me and their story was better than I had imagined. I s [...]

    9. I didn’t plan on reading Live For This by Kathryn Biel because in my mind, it’s one of those stories that will make me feel miserable after reading. Surely, a man with a broken body and woman with a shattered soul is a downright depressing combination, yeah?Well, guess what? It’s not that at all. I didn’t feel like the world is crashing down on me. There’s no feeling of heaviness or misery or grief. Nothing of that sort. This is superbly written. It’s hitting the right notes. The joke [...]

    10. Samirah Lundgren has hit rock bottom, and is broken heart and soul, to the point that she doesn't want to think about things that should matter like convictions, morals, ethics and family. Michael Salinger has a broken body due to a spinal cord injury, and broken heart due to the rejection of his fiance due to his life changing condition. “A car may have broken my body, but Lainie broke my heart.” These two unlikely people find themselves needing each other, at a very low point in both their [...]

    11. Samirah barely survives, until Michael knocks her over the head. Literally, with a rock. From the very beginning, this book sucked me in. A young woman with an identity crisis is victimized by those closest to her. A young man is confined to a wheelchair due to a random accident for the rest of his life. Both broken. But our hero, Michael, swoops in with generosity, charity, and a selflessness that’s extremely rare, proving there are still good people on this world. People who have suffered, b [...]

    12. This was a really beautiful story. It touched on some hard subjects but they were handled with care for all involved. This author broke our heart with two broken characters that slowly become whole again. I enjoyed the alternating POVs. It helped us get into the mind set and feel what both were feeling. The plot was heartbreaking and heart warming all at the same time. The pace of the book was perfect. I had a really hard time connecting with the heroine Sam at first. I didn't like her at all. Bu [...]

    13. I received a review copyWhen reading the synopsis, I wondered if I would cry through this whole story and just be a basket case while reading. That was not the case, but this book did bring up a whole lotta feels for me. There are some very serious topics discussed along the way, but this story never felt too heavy, or too depressing or too overwhelming. It was simply a solid, well-written, and very engaging novel. I read this in just over a day because it hurt too much to put down. Intense, rea [...]

    14. Another great book in Kathryn Biel's collection! I almost didn't finish this book due to the sexual assault content - I am so glad I continued! As a woman it was a tough part to read but not overly graphic. I loved the connection that developed between Sam and Michael and only wanted the best for both of them.

    15. Told in dual first person, anyone in a hopeless situation will find hope again through Sam and Michael's journey.Read full review in the 2016 June issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    16. A sad yet good story. Although there is a hint to a love story, I felt that this book is better described as a story of finding yourself and learning to live with the crappy hand you were dealt in life. The romance aspect wasn't very fulfilling, I didn't get the feels that I like to have when reading love or romance stories. That said, it was still a good book with an interesting story. I felt it explained enough medical terms without getting too technical to overwhelm the story.

    17. This book starts out with the life of the main character, Samirah. It's not pretty. She comes across as shallow and not very nice. She is having an affair with a married man and thinks he is going to leave his wife for her, which of course is what he wants her to believe. He buys her clothes, but from the description they are basically clothes that make her look slutty. She lives with an even more shallow woman (you wouldn't think that was possible, but it is). She is brought face to face with r [...]
