    About "Susan Vaughan"

    1. Susan Vaughan

I wanted to write as soon as I learned to read I dabbled with stories and poems for years, but didn t start writing seriously until many years later My favorite books have always been mysteries and romances, so the mix in romantic suspense was a natural I love writing romantic suspense because it throws the hero and heroine together under extraordinary circumstances and pits them against a clever villain My books have been both a Romantic Times Magazine Reviewer s Choice Nominee and a finalist for the Daphne du Maurier Award Reviewers have called my books fast paced, thrilling, action packed, sizzling, and highly emotional I am a West Virginia native but I have lived for many years on the coast of Maine For information about my books, to enter my contest, and for my musings and news, please visit me at susanvaughan or as Susan Vaughan, Author on FaceBook.

    1. This story had me on the edge of my seat worrying that the person wanting Laura dead may succeed. She witnessed a murder and has been running ever since, changing her name and location constantly in an attempt to keep safe. Cole Stratton is sent by the government to protect her but when he rides up on his Harley she remembers him as a bad boy from her past. She doesn't think she can handle her feelings for him on top of her other problems. Cole isn't the biker she once knew. Now he is a federal [...]

    2. I obtained this free e-book from and I am voluntarily writing a review. Laura is on the run for her life after witnessing a murder and barely surviving a brutal assault and being left for dead. She is the only one that can testify and put Alexi Marcos in prison where he belongs. DARC Agent Cole Stratton has been assigned undercover to protect Laura and bring Marcos in to stand trial. Warning: This is an addictive read.

    3. 4 and a half starsLaura is working in a Maine resort under an assumed name as a sailing instructor and a tennis coach. She needed to disappear after attempts were made on her life after when she witnessed a murder perpetrated by Alexei Marcos. Now the Director of Homeland Security has sent someone from her past to help protect her, Cole Stratton. He was a boy she had know from high school who broke her heart. Being around Cole again is the last thing Laura needs right now. She has been hiding se [...]

    4. A really good story. I liked both of the main characters. Also the way the author described different things, was humorous and made it almost easier to see/understand. Laura made a good choice when she chose "Murphy" as her fake last name. She attracted danger like a magnet but she was also very smart and adept at escaping, time and again. The past romance was a large part of the story because there were so many misunderstandings. The attraction was still there although so were the resentments. [...]

    5. I take my book reviews very seriously and I rarely give a 5 star rating, but in my very honest opinion, I wouldn't be doing this book justice by giving it any less. Although the first chapter started out feeling a tad stilted, it quickly smoothed out and settled into a good pace. After that, the writing became superb, the characters came to life, and the background painted with Da Vinci's brush. The action scenes, both in the bedroom and otherwise, were well choreographed. It was like being a gu [...]

    6. This is a gripping story, so make sure you have some time to "fall into" it. Meet Laura Rossiter, who has been on the run since she saw an antiquities dealer murder someone. She's living off the grid, with faked documents and trying to just survive until she can think of some other safe action to take. It all slides out of control when a government agent is sent to protect her. Cole Stratton is the boy she fell in love with as a college girl, but miscommunications and a lie came between them. Th [...]

    7. A terrific story that grabbed me immediately and kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end with characters and situations so realistic, I felt like I was in the middle of the action. Once I started reading I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next through the twists, turns, mystery, conflict, danger, secrets, loss, pain, humorous moments, second chances and so much more. I loved the sizzling chemistry and heartwarming romance between Laura and Cole. Fans of r [...]

    8. I was surprised by the emotional backstory between these two. I enjoyed it, but it was still surprising for a contemporary romance. Vaughn's style is, as always, engaging but I found certain phrases to be overused here.

    9. So much passion burning the main characters, that it was just about leaping out the pages itself. Could hardly put the book down towards the end, I just had to find out who the killer was and what would happen to everyone.
