    1. As far as I remember, the translation of his short stories and poems was just about right. Perhaps he isn't that difficult to translate. It could be that his work is more about what he says not how he says it. His poetry, powerful as it may be, is almost not poetry- there's no meter, no musical quality, nothing poetic about it if you ask me. Kamov's work deserves a comprehensive approach to translation in order that he is appreciated in the wider English speaking world.
