    3. This is my second reading of this Sherlock Holmes' pastiche. I enjoyed it even better, and appreciated the fine writing of Frank Thomas, who captures Doyle's narrative voice (as well as that of Watson and Holmes) so well. It was an interesting and entertaining adventure with some dull spots, in which historical details were thrashed out (is that the right word; oh well, as long as you know what I mean).
