    1. Amazing! Such a great book! Struggled putting it down and the last few chapters the tensions rises so much , so many plot twists I just had to keep reading ! So glad I bought it!

    2. 4.5 starsWow! Another fantastic romantic suspense novel by one of my favorite romantic suspense authors. This one had a lot of twists & turns and actually had two mysteries (when one is revealed, it immediately jumps into the second one). J.D. Cass is an agent with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigators. He's called to the scene of a dead woman found in a rocking chair. This ends up being the first murder by a killer deemed the Rocking Chair Killer. These murders also becomed linked to the di [...]

    3. This is an excellent mystery with a nice romance woven in. This is one of those books that kept me up all night because no matter how I tried to put it downI wanted to keep reading. Twenty-five years ago, Chattanooga, Tennessee, was devestated by a rash of abductions of blond-haired, blue-eyed toddler boys. Now the missing toddlers, in skeletal form, from the Baby Blue case are being returned one by one – in the arms of dead women who were recently reported missing. What a storyline, it kept m [...]

    4. Rating: 4 / 5 stars for the suspense1 / 5 star for the romance2.5 / 5 stars overallIt's hard to decide what to say about this book one aspect it was well above average, but in another, it was well below average. And unfortunately for me, that below average aspect dominates my opinion.Series Note:This book is the first in a set of books about this groups of characters. Barton states at the end of this one that the sequel will be out in 2012.Summary:When a woman is found murdered, posed in a rocki [...]

    6. I'm actually surprised that I finished this book. The synopsis sounded really intriguing but half-way through the book I found it to be a little boring and long-winded and I figured out who the killer was. Characters with traumatic past events or deep dark secrets are a given. But every single character? Come on. A little ridiculous. As for the mystery of who the killer is, it could have been a lot better. It just seemed to go on forever and the ending was anything but climactic. As for the roma [...]

    7. Finished this one over the weekend and all I can say is wow and I have found a new author. The story line could be a little tough for some since it deals with children, but this was a really good book. I did figure out the killer, but I was almost done when it dawned on me who it may be, and I was right. I will read the next book in this series, I really like the relationship between JD Cass & Audrey Sherrod. I was sadden to hear that this author is no longer with us, we will have to love th [...]

    8. OMG!! This book was amazing! It kept me hooked right from the beginning. I read it in two days. The plot was great and kept me guessing through the whole book. Can't wait till 2012 when she continues her story about the people in the book especially Hunky Special Agent Cass! A MUST read, you will enjoy it!

    9. This book absolutely bored me to tears enough to where I remember I needed to force myself to finish it. It shocks me with that because BB is a pretty good writer that I have enjoyed other books by her.

    10. This was an average book. I neither like it very much, nor disliked it in some way. I just read it (though it was a bit too long) and I will forget it in a few weeks. The best part of it was probably the suspense. The idea of the serial killer and (view spoiler)[it's connection to the past case (hide spoiler)] was interesting enough to keep me reading, while I found the characters boring. However, the case of Rocking Chair Murderer is solved too easy and quickly for my taste. What I didn't like is [...]

    11. Hush, little baby, don't say a word,Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird. If that mockingbird won't sing,Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring.A long time ago, toddlers disappeared, were assumed kidnapped, never to be seen again.Today, a serial killer is loose. He has been dubbed the "Rocking Chair Killer" because he kidnaps young women and kills them while they are sitting in a rocking chair. When they are discovered, they are also found to be holding a blue blanket containing the skeleton of [...]

    12. I started off really interested in the book, but as I got further and further into it I discovered how much I really disliked it. I feel like it could have been 200 pages shorter if she had stopped repeating the same exact story over and over again through the different characters. I found myself skipping over many of the parts, and turns out I didn't miss much. Other than that the relationships (especially Audrey and zoes), conversations and ever the plot seemed too forced. This book would defi [...]

    13. Really enjoyed this book. I wasn't expecting to like it that much when I first started reading it, but I got drawn into the story quite quickly.I thought each of the main characters were believable and real. There were three storylines, and I found each one as interesting as the others, even the romance one.I will definitely look for more by this author.

    14. Good mystery. Really like this author. Women are found strangled sitting in a rocking chair with the bones of small children which have been missing for years.

    15. It took me a few pages to get into it; there's a whiny "I don't like him but he should like me because I'm perfectly likeable," scene that I had a hard time getting through. Turns out to be a really great murder mystery. I'm definitely interested in finding the sequel!

    16. The story itself was great, but I wasn't always fond of the telling. Sometimes it felt too wordy, with extraneous details, almost as if there were a word count bonus.

    17. I felt like the ending was pretty predictable, but this was another book that passed time at work so it was great for that!

    18. Please note, this will contain some big spoilers. There is just no real way for me to write about this one without doing that. Sorry! All the way through this book until I hit about the last 10-15%, I thought this was a pretty good book, a bit creepy and twisted, but good. When I hit that point, though, things kind of started to fall apart. I had a few bits here and there that were bugging me, but I was still ready to give this a much higher rating until towards the end. There is a whole lot of pe [...]

    21. I do love a good mystery. A -good- mystery. Not a flaky, predictable, loosely written mystery with loose ends flapping all over the place. I like it when I don’t already know what’s going to happen by the end of the first five chapters. This book delivered. and several reviews I’ve read of it list this book alternately as a Mystery/Thriller and a Romance. I would definitely put it more in the Mystery/Thriller category myself, though there is a bit of chemistry going on between the two main [...]

    22. I give this book 5 stars for its supreme story. It is laced with intrigue, lies, insanity, and finally truth. Audrey Sherrod was only 8 years old when her baby brother Blake, went missing. 25 years later, women who bear a striking resemblance to the woman who took toddler aged boys, are turning up dead with what is originally thought to be dolls in their laps, but is in fact the skeletal remains of the toddler boys who started going missing 28 years earlier. The kidnappings were dubbed "The Baby [...]

    23. The best of the romantic thrillers I have read by Ms. Barton. The best part for me was that the romance was in the background while the suspense was front and center. I really enjoyed the J.T./Zoe storyline. I thought it was a very well written part of the book that made for a great subplot and felt very real. A father and teenaged daughter who didn't even know until recently that the other existed. They are thrown together to coexist and the whole thing was written in a way that made me like an [...]

    24. This is the first novel by Barton that I've read.I enjoyed the story it was a different mystery. I liked that there was more than one who could have done it and it didn't became obvious who it was until later in the book.I thought the writing was amateurish. It was repetitive for example, I didn't need Cass to continuously review and sum up things for me. Six boys had disappeared yep, I remember.I didn't get pulled emotionally to anyone. Audrey's dad was a A-hole to her but we never find out [...]

    25. I really liked this one. I thought the relationship between JD and his daughter was realistic and great. I liked that Audrey wasn't perfect - she judged JD and found him wanting, but I could see that it was a defense mechanism against her attraction. The relationships between Audrey and the men in her family was riveting to me. I thought Barton did a great job of showing how tragedy has long-term effects on a family. The mystery was creepy enough to hold my interest. And although I guessed the wh [...]

    26. Awal2nya sih lumayan menjanjikan tetapi makin kesini kok makin kedodoran.Chemistry antara Audrey & JD kurang tereksplor jadi seperti dari ga suka lgsung cinta malah hubungan JD yg playboy dgn cewek2 sexy lebih bikin greget.Penjahatnya? Saya sudah bisa nebak di pertengahan cerita walaupun motifnya ga jelas mengapa baru sekarang dia memulai pembunuhan dgn copy paste yg dilakukan oleh ibunya, tdk dijelaskan apa pemicunya. Btw utk detail pembunuhannya jg kurang sadis & impact kematian korban [...]
