    1. About 50 pages in, I realized the story sounded so familiar because I had already read this book before I started and so I never wrote a review. The details are a bit vague and that's why it took me so long to realize it. But from what I do remember it wasn't interesting or good enough to merit slogging through it again.

    2. I don’t think I can ever give any of Karen Swan’s books a rating of less than 5 stars. :)I love reading her stories. They always have everything I need and want in contemporary novels.Pia Soto is the sexy and glamorous prima ballerina. She’s wild and precocious, and she’s a survivor. Sophie O’Farrell is Pia’s hapless, gawky assistant, always falling in love with the wrong man or just falling over. When a devastating accident threatens to cut short Pia’s illustrious career, Sophie h [...]

    3. I love this book. The entire story was captivating, even from the beginning. I love how it started with an epilogue, to give like a warning to the readers. I loved how the epilogue ended, raising questions in the readers' mind. But most of all, I love how the plot of the book is not filled with unrealistic love notions like most chick-flick books. The book is in fact, filled with love that are realistic. None of those ridiculous proclamations of love when the guy first met the girl, or a prolong [...]

    4. It was an ok read a bit long for me and the book was quoted as bring an romantic read but I didn't think it was.I felt the storyline was dragged out and didn't really like the main character. Glad really that id borrowed it from the library!

    5. After only discovering Karen swan last year I have quickly become a fan of her writing style and ability to draw you in to the story. within the first page or two. This book was no different! Whilst I rated this book 4 stars this was simply because the love interests didn't really blossom until later in the book but that was my only negative point! The book centres around two characters who both are running from their pasts and careers are tested. I loved the feeling of being in the 'ballet' wor [...]

    6. The first book by Karen Swan I read was actually "The Rome Affair". I loved the story, loved how she developed the story keeping me craving for more. "Prima Donna" and "Players" are her first works and definitively not as defined and sophisticated as her later books. However, they are still entertaining, interesting and relaxing. One can detect how she incorporated her experiences from her former work life into the stories, sex scenes, jet set it all moves along nicely, still more raw and bold. [...]

    7. Pia Soto is a lady who knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. Sophie O'Farrell is her put upon assistant who will do whatever it takes to keep Pia happy, going above and beyond her job description to ensure that happens.Putting these two characters together drew me into the story immediately. But it's what happens when they have to exist separately that makes the story what it is. Watching their lives move away from each other, seeing them find different paths in order to survive as bes [...]

    8. Fast readA fun book, nothing heavy. Enjoyed learning about the world of ballet and the dedication involved. The heroine is a spitfire.

    9. Yet another fantastic story from Karen Swan; she just keeps coming out with new and different stories that are all different. This one grabbed me from page one, taking me into the world of Ballet. It has it all, drama, mystery, love, greed, tragedy and guilt. I loved every minute of it.Pia Soto is exactly what you expect a Prima Ballerina to be, spoilt, high handed and rude, to go along with her brilliance and beauty. I did like her even though there were times I wanted to slap her. I did really [...]

    10. I recently discovered Karen Swan and have since read 2 of her books in 1 week. Her writing is engaging, with an interesting cast of characters and, so far, interesting plots. I loved Prima Donna! (maybe because I've always fancied myself as a bit of a ballerina, which I'm not, just illusions of grandeureven an intermediate contemporary dance class is enough to make me collapse in an inelegant heap at the end). Her research into the worlds of ballet and polo is fascinating. I fell in love with bo [...]

    11. Pia Soto, Chicago Ballet's amazing ballerina with an even bigger ego has climbed her way from poverty in Brazil to being the most feted dancer in the world, her ambition is to gain the illustrious title of Ballerina Assoluta. Will Silk, financial whizz has Pia in his sights, but she's not impressed with his showy largesse until a disastrous accident which puts her career on the line means she has to give in and accept his help during her recovery. To encourage her return to form Silk sets up a " [...]

    12. WOW! I just managed to read this huge 566 page book in just over 24hrs. Which is pretty impressive even by my standards. This is one of the best books I have read this in genre, I literally could not put it down and whilst at work, all I wanted to do was stop working and read.I LOVED all of the characters, even when they were being complete brats.I was a bit confused at first by the beginning trying to guess which ballerina was the girl in the beginning, but it soon became obvious. Pia was writte [...]

    13. Well, well, well. Just what a fool I have been, as this book has been on my to read pile for an age and I was silly to have not picked it up sooner. I don't know why, it looks like quite a hefty read and if I'm honest, reading the synopsis, the world of the ballerina didn't quite seem `me'. Well, I am certainly paying for that mistake now! I have already ordered Karen Swan's other two books and am looking forward to reading them.Karen Swan's debut novel entitled Players was released in 2010 and [...]

    14. My first thought after I've finished the book? Mummy, why didn't you put me in ballet??Prima Donna was soaked with drama. Every scene was intense and built up to the final revelations about Will's intentions and the connection between Tony and Pia (I shall not give spoilers). I wonder how much research Karen Swan made while writing this book. Did she use to be a ballerina too? It would be awesome to chat with her on her inspiration. I know nuts about ballet except how a tutu looks like but I'm s [...]

    15. This book tell the story of Pia, who aims was to achieve the highest accolades in Ballet, who ignore all hurdles to achieve it. This book have a very dramatic plot and i found myself to be gripping with anxiety as the story goes. The start of the book is rather slow and is more focusing on Pia's story; her demands and unreasonable act which make me dislike her very much. As the story developed, i begun to understand the reason behind her acts and towards the midsection of the book, especially wh [...]

    16. Love Karen Swan's writing, and this book was just phenomenalI couldn't put it down! The details she used surrounding the ballet were so intricate that I felt I was truly there. As a former dancer myself, the characters and the hardships of competition rang true, and I was completely engulfed in their trials and tribulations. I just picked up her latest Christmas novel, and cannot wait to read it, although, as much as I love reading her stories, I'm always sad when I finish them. I am always left [...]

    17. I loved this book so much! I basically read it twice in one sitting. The whole story line of this book was absolutely amazing and I loved it! So sexy, fun and for sure entertaining. I will definitely be reading this book again this summer! I would suggest this book to any young adult or teenager. This book surprisingly makes it into my favorite book list. It actually took alot of debate with myself before I decided to read this. I only wish I had read it earlier!

    18. While reading, I got so fed up of the main character I put this book down. I eventually finished reading it, but I definitely didn't like it. Its jammed packed with description and information which can be a good thing but got very excessive at times. The cliche ending made me roll my eyes and want to puke.

    19. Thought this book was fantastic. Couldn't put it down constantly trying to find a couple of extra minutes here and there so I could read. Loved the main characters of Pia and Sophie, both very likeable even though the former being a prima donna.

    20. Had this book on my bookshelf for a while, as I wasn't sure ballet was really my thing, how wrong I was. I became quickly engrossed and enjoyed the characters tangled lives, the plot twists and turns kept me going right till the last page.

    21. Good trashy book. Yes, it was trashy but still well written and kept me absorbed. I would recommend the Perfect Present by Karen Swan which was not trashy at all but her characters still captivate you as these did.
