    1. This will be very sweary, you have been warned!Do you know what I fucking hate in books?! I'll tell you (again), it's the constant use of a person's name. Over and over as if I'm too stupid as a reader to pick up who is talking or being talked to. It drives me up the bloody wall. THERE IS NO NEED FOR IT.I only read the sample for this, which is about 10% of the full book. In that 10% (about 20 pages) the heroine's name (Briony) is used 84 times! 84 TIMES! WHY? WHY IS IT USED THAT MUCH. Can you i [...]

    2. Since I'm the author of this book, and I see other authors on voting on their own books, I am rating this a five, of course :)

    3. First Impressions: I’ve been waiting to get my ‘eyes’ on this book since I first heard of it. My anticipation was well rewarded! The Wicked Woods is all I hoped it would be and more! It is eerie and haunting and mysterious, suspenseful with a dash of sweet romance on the side! The writing is so rich with wonderful characters and a powerful storyline. This is the Debut series of the year!My Reflections: Wicked, is a quaint tourist town set in Massachusetts. One of its main attractions the W [...]

    4. This was such a captivating story that anyone can enjoy. The writing is smooth and easy to follow along. This is my first read by Kailin Gow and I must say that I really enjoyed this story so much more than I imagined I would. Briony moves to Wicked Woods, MA, to live with her Great Aunt Sophie after the disappearance of her Mother, Father and Brother. Aunt Sophie ownes an Inn at the edge of the woods where she and Briony live. With an unexpected knock on the door one night, Briony is opened up [...]

    5. I was really excited about this book but it was kind of a let down. Now I am not a hard person to please, at all. The story didn't really seem to flow well, there wasn't any real character development and I wasn't a real big fan of Briony. After losing her family she doesn't really come off as being a character you can sympatize with, she seemed really caught up in herself and how beautiful she is and how no one likes her. Now I know she is a teenager but there wasn't really character developmen [...]

    6. The Wicked Woods Review for GoodReadsThis is a book that was written. Things happen in it. There will be spoilers in this reviewVER: It has one.OPENING: It's dark. Dark. Dark like the unending misery of life in this corrupt city, every tall and fancy building as rotten to the core as the most squalid corner of any wretched alleyway within its limits. And yet, she's beautiful. Dark and beautiful. Beautiful like—*Cough-cough* Oh. *cough* Sorry about that folks, I seem to have momentarily transfo [...]

    7. I love Wicked Woods! From the start, you get the sense Wicked Woods is crawling with creatures you don't want meet. Briony's parents and little brother had disappeared in the woods, so it is ironic she ends up living with her eccentric great Aunt Sophie in a bed and breakfast at the edge of the woods. The town of Wicked Woods seem so real. Briony is a heroine who is brave, sexy, smart, and even has a sense of wry humor. The boys, who happened to be brothers, will prove to have a natural rivalry [...]

    8. I can't figure out why this author has won so many awards. Plainly, the people who gave those awards somehow missed reading really good fantasy. I would just like to say QUANTITY is NOT QUALITY. 80 books don't mean much if the content is just so-so. I read the first two books of this series, just to be fair. However, I still feel that this is just too "pulp fiction". Vampires, werewolves, love triangle. Please, don't you have more imagination? Not going on my favorite author list!

    9. Best series yet! Huge props to Kailin! I have been waiting for Wicked Woods since late spring 2010. So yes, I had quite a wait! I must say it was well worth it!Briony recently lost her parents and younger brother along with her uncle. Sadly, this all happened at the same time. They all seem to have disappeared in the woods. Nobody has been able to find them. No trace. No signs. No clues. Justgone. Now, Briony has no choice but to live with her aunt Sophie at the inn she runs. Nervous and on edge [...]

    10. Intrigue, mystery involving a missing family, creepy setting, colorful characters in an idyllic resort-like town and a paranormal plot filled with twists and turns delivered in a fun and engaging style; the Wicked Woods is now one of my favorite *spoiler* werewolf young adult series. The family relationship theme, the handling of difficult teen high school issues such as bullying and trying to fit in puts this teenage series in the must read for teens book list.

    11. Another addicting new series from Ms. Gow. Briony is the perfect mix of kick-butt teen heroine, flaws, and teen angst. The town of Wicked is vivid, and the colorful inhabitants there is at once familiar, yet new. I love the relationship between Aunt Sophie and Briony best, but the two hot brothers vying for Briony’s love spices things up, too!Naya's Girls Night Out Book Picks

    12. Wicked woods is Kalin gow best book yet! I loved the plot and all the characters. Don't know if I'm team Fallon or Kevin at the moment I'm leaning to Kevin and can't wait to read the 2nd book

    13. I seem to have a intense fascination with this author, Kailin Gow. I really enjoy her writing style. This is a YA , horror series but tends to veer I believe toward a more adult audience. I had instance's of a laugh out loud moment. I think there is a great story here with many twists :) This book has a feel of such books as : Twilight, Shiver, movies : Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Supernatural. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series. Wicked Woods: Bri [...]

    14. This new series from Gow is spectacular. Gow really develops Briony as a full character. After losing her parents and little brother in the most bizarre way, Briony goes to live in the very place they disappear. Wicked Woods is spooky and unexplored. Aunt Sophie, who adopts Briony, runs a bed and breakfast at the edge of the woods. Nothing is as it seems in this cozy resort town. Briony goes to a school where she can't tell who is normal and who isn't, as in paranormal. Great cast of characters [...]

    16. I bought this ebook cause it was cheap. Oh boy. That should have been a warning. I'll be honest, I got about 20% and just stopped. I am not a glutton for torture. What bugged me at first was the writing style, it was very formal, awkward and stiff. There was one line that was '"Get the door" And Briony did so.' I mean REALLY?! And I kept thinking as I read descriptions or lack thereof of the book was "show, not tell". How elementary is that? The story had overall promise to be good, I just couldn' [...]

    17. The first thing I noticed about Wicked Woods was the cover. The first thing my mom noticed about Wicked Woods was the typo on the back"The woods at the edge of Aunt Sophie's inn is filled with secrets and inhabitants both seductive and deadly." Did you catch it? 'The woods filled with secrets'. I'm pretty sure 'is' should be changed to 'are'. *shakes head* Wow this book irritated me so much that I was actually reduced to nitpicking about insignificant grammatical errors on the freaking cover.I'v [...]

    18. Wow This was a really good book even though I didn't expect it to be(given that until this book cover caught my eye I was completely unaware of Kailin Gow's work) *studip me I know* but this was a very good read and I actually found most of the characters very refreshing! Especially the MC(main character). The-whole-she-was-the-queen-bee-at-her-school- thing and now she's just mellow thing was a surprise that showed how 2 demenional she is as character. And what a name! Briony. Dosen't that just [...]

    19. This was yet another fast and easy read for me. This doesn't come as much of a surprise to me though as Kailin Gow never seems to disappoint. Wicked is filled with things that you don't want to run into day or night. Though I didn't find it overly horrifying there was definitely a certain creep factor that lay within the pages. I mean living at the edge of the woods where your entire family disappeared holds a certain amount of creep to it. The story itself is both predictable and not. I know co [...]

    20. I was a bit worried to read Wicked Woods, as I was not a fan of the previous book I read by Kailin Gow. However, the book kept grabbing my attention until I finally decided to sit down and read it. Once I started, my worries subsided as I was pulled into Gow’s delicious world of Wicked, but I soon started noticing some issues that I feared would make an appearance in yet another Kailin Gow novel. Let me explain.Briony, after the death of her family, moves in with her great aunt Sophie, and soo [...]

    21. Briony’s parents, brother, Jake, and Uncle Peter, have all gone missing. Her Aunt Sophie becomes her legal guardian, and Briony will now be living with her at the inn her aunt runs in Wicked Woods, the same town her family went missing. The first night at the inn, there is an odd couple that shows up and just so happens to be vampires. Her aunt didn’t want her to find out this way. She wanted Briony to be able to live as normal as possible especially after the ordeal the both of them have fac [...]

    22. Okay, I'm a fan of Kailin Gow, I preference this review with that statement because I want you to know I enjoy her Bitter Frost series. I actually enjoyed this book. However, the impending "but"I found the writing to be somewhat juvenile; the story line though a basic vampire falls for human in this case (slayer) human falls for vampire but also has feelings for another who just happens to bewell *spoiler alert* werewolfCan't say we haven't heard this story before although the twist is the loss [...]

    23. Here is a twilight variation in which Bella is a monster-hunter and has some self-esteem, Edward isn't so old and both lost their families. The world is one in which vampires and werewolves exist, and they eat people (and animals). I seriously gave it one star because there isn't a chance to put half a star. **spoiler alert!!**I mean REALLY??-A town near Salem named WICKED ('cause it was the most obvious name?)-A girl who is orphan but alas, extrmely good looking and supposed-to-be popular and d [...]

    24. Wicked woods takes place in Wicked MA, where Briony is sent to her Aunt's Inn due to the disappearnce of her parents and brother. She soon finds that the Town of Wicked is full of mysterious things and after being saved by a mysterious boy named Fallon she soon discovers that the town of "Wicked" might just be that 'wicked'. She makes new friends at her new school and soon grows closer to Fallon and right when she thinks life is finally getting back in order Fallon reveals to her something about [...]

    25. Wicked Woods follows Briony who moves to her aunts place in Wicked Woods Massachusetts, because her family dissapeared in the Wicked Woods. She discovers secrets about the town and the woods surrounding it, and meets a handsome boy named Fallon. I liked the first paragraph a lot. All that darkness placed into it!! Very dark. The vampire hunter thing was cool. I did not think this was going to be a vamp book. I promised myself not to read any this year, and this one snuck up on me. oh well. I sti [...]

    26. This book moved so quickly and the characters were so shallow it was laughable. Unfortunately, you never really knew any of the characters or fully understood what was going on in their minds. It was just like basic, on the surface thoughts. It was boring and the heroine's name was written so many times I thought I'd go crazy. The plot was very good just wasn't fully explored in the book. I never felt like I was there. It was almost like I was reading a police report. Just the basic details of w [...]

    27. Well I have to say I liked this book. I did not love it but is was an easy quick read that had me wanting more. That being said I think I'm over the vampire werewolf thing. This was nothing like Twilight but fact that the main character falls for both vamp and wolf I think is tired and used up. I really like how she is suppose to hunt these things and finds herself torn because they used to be human and had no choice in their change. I just think the story needed a little more character building [...]

    28. I thought this was more like a zombie apocalypse but nope it isn't. But I still pushed through. The first parts are interesting and I knew Fallon was a vamp then and there. I don't like the way they fell into each other like it's too sudden. Like they just suddenly decided that they love each other when actions doesn't really see it. When Kevin came, with saving from a wolf, I thought he definitely must be a werewolf. It's too overrated. But if I have to choose between Fallon and Kevin, I'd defi [...]

    29. The book doesn't give much build up to things. The main character meets a boy while he saves her life. He shows up at school. They have a total of two quick conversations that hold no tension or real personality and she is declaring her love the next page. But don't forget the not really mysterious - mysterious OTHER boy that saved her life that she has only had two bland conversations with that she may love too. :/ the only difference in the boys is one is blond and one has dark hair. And it en [...]
